Valium

A benzodiazepine is Valium (diazepam). Diazepam is believed to operate by increasing the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain. Valium is a prescription medication that is used to treat anxiety disorders, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and muscular spasms and stiffness. To treat seizures, valium is occasionally used with other medicines.
Follow your doctor’s instructions when taking Valium. Read all drug guidelines and follow the instructions on your prescription label. Your doctor may adjust your dosage from time to time. Never use more diazepam than prescribed or for longer than recommended. If you have an increased desire to use more of this medication, tell your doctor.
Never give this medication to someone else, particularly if they have a history of drug misuse or addiction. Addiction, overdose, and death can all result from misuse. Place the medicine in a secure location where others will not be able to get it. It is illegal to sell or give away this medication. Valium should only be taken for a limited period of time. Without your doctor’s permission, do not use this medication for more than 4 months
Even if you feel fine, do not abruptly stop taking this medication. Stopping abruptly may result in more seizures or unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. To taper your dosage, follow your doctor’s recommendations.
